Daniel Queen Family Group

DANIEL QUEEN (A6) was born about 1785 in Maryland, near the White Marsh Farm plantation in Collington, Prince George’s County. The date of his death is unknown. He married Hannah Prout (b. 1797)—a free woman—on 7 February 1814, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Eight children were believed to be born from this union.

  4. Eleanor Helen “Nelly” Queen, born on 12 August 1821 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland; She was baptized on 9 September 1821 at White Marsh Church in Collington, Prince George’s County, Maryland.
  5. Margaret Queen, born about 1823 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
  6. Mary E. Queen, born about 1825 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
  7. Daniel Queen Jr., born about 1829 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland; He married Jane R. _____ of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
  8. Thomas Queen, born about December 1831; baptized on 5 April 1832 at White Marsh Church in Collington, Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Daniel Queen won his freedom from Rev. John Ashton in April 1796. At the 1832 Special Census for Anne Arundel County, Daniel and Hannah (Prout) Queen were found living near the Fork of the Patuxent in the Fourth District. By 1840, they were still inhabitants of the “Fork,” living near Archibald and Mary (Queen) Hawkins.
