DNA Studies

Recent DNA studies have revealed that descendants of the Queen families of Maryland share close DNA connections to the descendants of the 272 plus enslaved individuals sold by the Maryland Jesuits in 1838, to pay the debts of Georgetown College (now Georgetown University).

The GU272 Descendants Association and the Georgetown Memory Project has been working closely with members of the Queen families in Maryland, to bridge the gaps and discover their most recent common ancestors.
